No news is good news!
I received a brief which required me to get a newspaper from saturday 17th October and to pick an article from this which gave interest to me, i chose an article about a lipgloss which could test if you had had a drink spiked with a date rape drug. Initially i thought this would be a very interesting subject to begin with as I researched into this subject further I soon discovered there were floors in the advertisement they had made it seem as if u could discretely drip the lip gloss into the glass and then if the tip turned blue your drink had a date rape drug into it. Yet this was not the case you got test strips in the box with the lipgloss that tested for drugs you only got 5 and this wouldn't be worth the £9.99 that they were asking for the lipgloss in the first place. I went with the idea of the commercial lipgloss and made 3 posters yet they didn't work out as well as i thought so i limited the idea down to date rape alone and concentrated on this and re did the posters as i had already got statistics for the amount that accounted over the years.

OUGD101 Design Principles
Brief: How to..
My group was given the concept How to... still enjoy a night out when one of your friends becomes unwell. We needed to think of ideas in which we could inform an audience how this would be possible we were told we would be able to generate anything poster, flyer, leaflet in order to do this. We began to get together all our ideas we did this by brainstorming on an A1 sheet this was an easy way to see what we were dealing with and also gave us all more inspiration we aimed to get down 100 ideas before settling on one idea.

OUGD101
Alphabet Soup: Design Principles
1st Presentation:
Monday the 29th the morning consisted of a presentation lead by Fred he taught about the basic principles of typography and how it came about we looked into some history of when it became a thing which would change how the world would see and read. I found it very interesting as type isn't something which i have looked into much on previous courses. We got given a handout which pointed out what makes a type different from the next and how it has been sculptured. I learnt key features of a typeface such as where the stem, leg and stroke are situated and also important key features like counter the counter i found interesting because I would never look at type or try and create a new type in this way although i have been taught negative drawing of an object.
Task one:
After the presentation we all returned back to the studio with Amber we were told to get out our research task from the summer brief in groups we had to combine all of our letterforms we needed to choose a way in order to group the letters together we chose to do them alphabetically. This was time consuming and to do it in this way we would need to do all the letters in the alphabet we should have chosen another way in order to make the most out of this exercise.
